Library Shelob 2017
Arachne before she was Arachne! An Italian Piedmont style blend with fruit from Klipsun Vineyard and Steel Hill Vineyard. Aromas of lavender, violet, root beer float, sap, palo santo and hints of burning woods make this wine perfect for hearty winter stews and rich tomato sauces. Light bodied and medium tannin.
"Monstrous and abominable eyes they were, bestial and yet filled with purpose and hideous with delight, gloating over their prey trapped beyond all hope of escape." J.R.R. Tolkien, The Two Towers

2016 Shelob 89 points - A blend of mainly Nebbiolo and Zinfandel with a touch of Dolcetto, the wine begins with aromas of prune with red fruits and a touch of spice. Highly fruity on the palate with red fruits and nice spice, this comes off a touch sweet but carries good balance. International Wine Report/Owen Bargreen
2016 Shelob- Shelob is an Italian red blend that’s sourced entirely from the Gorge. The Nebbiolo (50%) comes from Waving Tree Vineyard in Maryhill, the Zin (30%) from Steel Hill Vineyard in The Dalles, and the Dolcetto (20%) comes from Flume Vineyard on Underwood Mountain. It sees partial carbonic maceration and is then aged in neutral oak for 18 months. The listed alcohol is 13.8%. Aromatically, Shelob is all Piedmont: raspberries, roses, incense, leather. The palate is bright and energetic. A juicy light body, vibrant acidity, and medium tannins are at the core of this red blend—you couldn’t go wrong pairing it with hearth-cooked pizza, polenta with pork sugo, grilled bread and eggplant caponata, or roasted lamb with chimichurri. This wine was made for food; there’s no wrong pairing choice. Full Pull Wines
